Like every year, interior design aficionados have a date in their calendars in Barcelona to enjoy a new edition of Casa Decor, the most prestigious and important decoration and interior design exhibition in Europe. From 8th November to 9th December, professionals, companies and the general public will be able to get a first-hand look at the latest ideas and trends in the interior design sector.

Casa Decor is distinguished from other trade fairs because the exhibition is held in one of the city’s archetypal building, which undergoes an interior renovation or transformation especially for the event. Each space is decorated by a company, designer or artist, making the building a true catalogue of live decoration.

On this occasion, the chosen property is number 271 Carrer Aragó, a building with a classic façade built around the turn of the 20th century, which underwent a comprehensive remodelling in the mid-1990s to house the prestigious University of Chicago School of Business and later the Mazars law firm. The building covers 3,800 m2 distributed over seven floors and a basement, and has around 50 rooms with natural lighting and a 90 m2 terrace. The spaces will be decorated by leading Spanish and international interior designers.

Number 271 Carrer Aragó also boasts a privileged location, standing on the corner where the street meets Passeig de Gràcia, right in the heart of Barcelona’s Eixample neighbourhood and where views to Gaudí’s Casa Batlló can be enjoyed from the building’s balconies. Yet another incentive to visit Casa Decor Barcelona 2012.

If you plan to come to Barcelona to see the exhibition, you can stay close to Casa Decor at  Hotel Condes de Barcelona (Passeig de Gràcia 73-75) and enjoy visiting one of the world’s most famous avenues.
